Busy Week

Well we survived a busy week. It's all done. They came and packed up all of our stuff and next time we see it will be in Hawaii. I have to admit this was one of the nicest moves I have ever done. After we got our bags packed with what we were taking with us the movers did the rest. We still ended up staying up late going through everything, we didn't want to take any unnecessary thing with us. Gracie also had a big week it was her preschool graduation. She got her first degree and Deven got a little bit excited soon he will be getting his last degree. What a great year for us!!!! Everything is going great so far for the house and we are excited we love the neighborhood and feel like it will be a great home for us the next few years. Things just fell into place and we really feel like this is the house and the neighborhood we are suppose to be in, not to mention we couldn't have done much better on a commute for Deven so we should see him more and he will spend less time in traffic. We will be living in Miliani. It is centrally located so we are about 20 minutes from Honolulu and about 20 minutes from the North Shore. He is only about 15 minutes from Trippler (the hospital he is working at) so it will probably take him about 30 minutes in traffic but that is pretty good all things considered.

Gracie has enjoyed preschool this past year and Mrs. Gourley has been a great teacher for her. She is very patient with Gracie and we have really appreciated that. Gracie has come a long way We are so proud of you. Heres to a lot more degrees.

Aloha

Well we are getting ready to fly home tomorrow. It has been a fun, stressful, exhausting trip. We managed to squeeze in a little much needed fun as house hunting was getting to both of us. So Deven and the dive leader convinced me to dive the ship wreck. I was reluctant but I gave in to peer pressure. In this case I am so glad I did. I dove 102 feet to see the ship wreck (the Sea Tiger). It was one of the coolest things I have ever done. I even saw an eel and I didn't freak out too bad. I just kept my distance. (They are so creepy looking... at least that is what I think, you can form your own opinion I am sharing my picture of it with you). Today we put an offer in and are just waiting to hear if they will accept it or not, so Deven and I drove around to find a beach we had never been to watch the sun set. It turned out to be beautiful. It was a beach just before the north shore. It was so calm and we needed that tonight. I hate waiting. We are hoping for good news. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Projects and Moving

Well I just have to say that moving makes you have to kick it in high gear. I started this quilt for Gracie's room about a year ago. I would work on it occasionally but never made a lot of progress. I finally decided it was time. So I finally finished it!!! I was so excited this is my first quilt and hey it only took me a year. Also I have been having fun planning different rooms in my house (that I don't have yet) but I wanted to do a beach bathroom so Deven and I have been busy making a few things for it. I found a beach board mirror in a magazine and it was $300. I just couldn't justify it but Deven thought he could make one for me. I think it turned out pretty close to the actual one. Anyways I am happy with it so hopefully it will work in a bathroom. We will know soon enough wish us luck everyone we leave tomorrow to go and look for a house. It will be a pretty busy trip, we have about 30 houses we want to look at. We hope to squeeze in a little time for some fun so I will keep everyone posted and hopefully I will have some good news to share next week when we get back.

Family, Family, Family

Well I wanted to just take a minute and say how much we enjoy our family. Time is flying by and we are realizing we don't have a lot of time left. Sometimes I just want to freeze time for a moment, but since we can't we are just trying to enjoy every day living by family. I have been up to visit Sharon at least 3 times these past couple of weeks. I just want to spend as much time with her as I can. We have never lived in the same state since we have been married and now they finally move back to Utah and of course we leave. But I am enjoying the moments. I love to go play with the twins and Gracie loves to play with Sarah. My Aunt Pat put together a girls night out for all the cousins. It was a lot of fun to have dinner with everyone and to just spend an enjoyable night talking and enjoying a break from regular life. This past weekend we went down to Gunnison to spend some time with my family. It was so relaxing. We worked on some unfinished projects and just spent a lot of time relaxing. I forgot how relaxing Gunnison can be. We didn't go anywhere because there just aren't a lot of places to go and I didn't feel like I always had to go run an errand. Deven and I both agreed that was one of the most relaxing weekends we have had in a long time. So this blog is kind of boring as I didn't take one picture this past couple of weeks. But I just wanted to say we love family and love spending time with them. So to our families and friends we say hope we see a lot more of you guys in the next couple of weeks. I don't care if you get sick of us we are still going to bug everyone.

We did it, we're scuba certified

So for the past three weeks Deven and I have been taking a scuba class to become scuba certified. Well I have to admit that most of this class was out of my comfort zone. But I did it. We did our final dive tonight in the crater in Midway, UT. It was kind of claustrophobic, it seriously felt like you were in a volcano. It was dark inside and that made me quite nervous, but the water temperature was 93 degrees and that part I loved. We are hoping to take our first dive in a couple of weeks when we go out to Hawaii to find housing. I am sure I will freak out there with all the big fish and sharks swimming around me (yes I said Sharks) at least in the crater there were no fish. Oh the things we do for our husbands he thinks this is the coolest thing ever.

This was our scuba class. We had an awesome instructor and a lot of fun with everyone in the class. He had to calm me down several times and convine me it was ok to take my regulator out of my mouth under water. I didn't want to let it go.

Congratulations Shirece!!!

Well it was a big night for Shirece and we were happy to be there with her. It was Senior Design Night. Shirece is graduating in design from Utah State and this was there big show. You can see in the pictures how talented she is. She is amazing at what she does. I can't wait until she can design my house one day. We had fun with most the family as we spent the night at the design party and then went back to Sharon's house for more fun. Gracie had a blast with the cousins and I had so much fun spending the weekend with my mom and sisters. So to Shirece we have to say congratulations we are proud of you and know you will go far.

The haircut

Well Gracie got her first haircut by someone other than her mom. For some reason she did not want to get her hair cut at a salon. We finally convinced her it would not hurt and she agreed. When we got there she got all shy and nervous but she agreed to sit on my lap. We have to laugh at the picture as she has to make everything more dramatic than it needs to be. She poked out her bottom lip and pouted the whole time. We decided to capture the moment on camera, when she makes up her mind about something nothing you can say will change it - she did not want to get a haircut.
Gracie got a kite from Easter from her Grandma Sorensen. She has been begging to fly it for a long time, but we are not having very cooperative weather. Well it was a cold Saturday but she wanted to try and she insisted on wearing a princess dress. At least it was a windy day. So we went to a park and let her fly her kite and try out her daddy's boomerang. She loved being outside we feel so cooped up lately. Time is just flying by and things are happening so fast. I can't believe it is April. The weather doesn't feel like it is April. We are excited and getting nervous about our upcoming move. Deven is just trunky and can't wait to actually start working. He is so tired of rotations. He just has three weeks left and then he is done. I can't believe it. But with all the excitement comes a little bit of reservation. I am not sure I am quite ready to make the big move. But to be honest as long as the weather remains like this I am ready to go I miss the sun and being outside.
